An inquiry was made in regards to the council meeting minutes dated November 21, 2022, Mayor Koci had stated that he and 3 other council members attended the National League of City Conference.
Here are the questions that were asked in a public records request;
1.) Who were the 3 council members who attended?
2.) What were the costs of travel? Did the city pay for that for all attendees?
3.) What were the lodging costs? Was that paid for all attendees?
4.) What were the conference fees for each individual? Are any of the attendees’ members of the National League of Cities?
5.) Were there any workshops attended? Was there a cost to do so?
6.) Were educational sessions attended? If so which ones, by whom, and what costs were associated with each session?
7.) Did the attendees visit the expo? What information was brought back regarding vendors or services from the expo if it was attended? Was there an additional cost for the Expo?
8.) What were the costs for any meals or entertainment for the trip for all attendees?
9.) What were the transportation costs while attending? Was there a vehicle rented? Public Transportation? Uber / Lyft? What were the costs for each attendee?
10.) Was a letter of justification including all costs submitted for approval before attending? If so, please provide a copy and who approved it.
11.) What was the general goal of attending the meeting? Was there an agenda? Did 4 people need to attend to achieve the best result for the city and its residents?
12.) The dates listed on the Meeting website said it was November 17th through the 19th. Mayor Koci said they had just returned the morning of the 21st? Who paid for the additional days and what were the total costs if those were paid for by the city?
