The Change We Need. The Voice We Deserve.
Here is what I will work for as Your Council Representative:
- A stronger focus on neighborhood safety: work to strengthen enforcement of our laws and ordinances.

- Economic development: support ideas and policies that attract businesses and help local ones grow.
- Better communication between City Hall and residents: 🐝Bedford Buzz™- email updates directly to your inbox of city news and events
- Budgeting decisions that reflect community priorities.
- Making sure your voice is heard and brought to the table.
Bedford homeowners deserve accurate information and not to pay more than they should. That’s why updating FEMA flood maps matters.
When people hear economic development, they often think of big construction projects or new businesses. But it’s also about protecting the homes and investments we already have.
In 2011, FEMA updated its flood maps and placed parts of Bedford, including my own property on Tudor Ave, in a flood zone. That change forced many homeowners with a mortgage and/or a home-equity line to carry mandatory and costly flood insurance under federal rules.
This affects more than individual homeowners. It impacts property values, limits reinvestment, and makes it harder for families to improve or sell their homes. This issue has not been reviewed in over a decade, and it is time we take another look to make sure residents are not paying more than they should.
As your council representative, I will work with city staff, county partners, and FEMA to update the data and ensure Bedford has accurate flood zone information. This will not be solved overnight, but fixing outdated maps will protect homeowners from unnecessary costs, strengthen property values, and make Bedford more attractive for future investment. That is how we start building a stronger community for everyone.

My connection to Bedford goes back many decades and it’s a part of my family’s story.
My grandparents, Tony and Kay Gambatesa, owned and operated The Gas Lite Inn on Broadway in historic Bedford until 1980. It was a popular spot for fine dining, conversation, and community.
When they retired, Bedford Mayor Andrew Romito honored them with a city proclamation recognizing their years of service and hospitality to the Bedford community.
I’m proud to share a little piece of Bedford’s history and my family’s place in it. 💛

Cuyahoga County is returning $35 million to cities, schools – how much is your community getting?
Cuyahoga County is giving $35 million in real estate assessment funds back to communities and schools to support services and education. Here's a list of how much each taxing authority is getting.
								🍁Leaf Collection friendly reminders
🍂 Leaves should be raked out to the tree lawn near the street and left loose in a pile. Yard waste, branches/twigs and any kind of household trash should not be mixed in with the leaves as it takes city workers longer to vacuum the leaves and may cause damage to city equipment and may therefore necessitate the city's unavailability to perform this service timely.
🍂 Please do not rake leaves into the street, this blocks our storm system.

🍂 Finally, please be considerate of parking in the street during leaf season. Workers are unable to pick up the leaves if there is a car parked in front of a pile.
🍁Thank you & have a wonderful autumn!

Bedford owns acres of tax-exempt land that have sat idle for years.
No taxes mean no progress.
It’s time for transparency, accountability, and action on city-owned land.
🏘️ WHO OWNS BEDFORD AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
For more than a decade, acres of #BedfordOH land have sat idle under the City’s Land Reutilization Program. Most are tax-exempt and producing no property-tax revenue for the services we depend on every day:
👮 Police & Fire Departments
🚧 Street & Sidewalk Repairs
🧹 Sanitation & City Services
📚 Local Schools
Land banking can be a smart redevelopment tool, but when properties remain city-owned for long periods, those parcels generate no local tax revenue. That means fewer dollars available to support services and less flexibility when the city applies for matching funds or grants to improve infrastructure.
Residents deserve answers and a plan. For 12 years, Ward 1 has had the same representation, and it’s time for a fresh approach that moves from passive holding to active progress — bringing transparency, accountability, and forward thinking to how Bedford uses its resources.
I’d be honored to earn your vote for Bedford City Council – Ward 1 this November 4th.
Let’s move Bedford forward together.
